Phosphoric acid

分类

Phosphoric acid, a common inorganic acid, is a clear, colorless, viscous solution with no odor. Unlike volatile substances, it doesn’t quickly decompose and shows minimal signs of oxidation. While its acidity is milder than hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, and nitric acid, it is more potent than acetic acid, boric acid, and similar compounds. Phosphoric acid readily dissolves in air and is miscible with water and ethanol.

Description:

Preparation Method:

The process begins by vaporizing yellow phosphorus, followed by its oxidation through either air or superheated water vapor. This oxidation leads to the formation of phosphorus pentoxide, which is subsequently absorbed and purified using water. Another approach involves the use of nitric acid to oxidize phosphorus. Alternatively, tricalcium phosphate can be co-heated with dilute sulfuric acid, followed by filtration of the resulting filtrate and subsequent concentration to obtain the desired product.
